The family law system is overloaded. About 3.8 million new cases hit the courts each year and in most of them at least one person goes it alone. People in the middle of life stress are told to figure out a legal maze with little help. That leads to worse outcomes and higher costs. ThreadLock is built to make the process clearer and fairer.
We are seeking $150,000 in non equity funding to launch. We will start with an employer rollout through a broker network. Time to market is 3 months with brokers that already carry EAP and mental health benefits. Profitability in 9 to 12 months. Full payback in 12 to 18 months. With strong uptake the return can be 5x or more.
2. The Market Failure
This started in a courtroom, not a boardroom. I represented myself. Law school did not help when I had no budget and no network. I thought I could manage. I was wrong.
The judge in my case had a record of serving the underserved. From the bench they were stuck in the same chaos I was.
I saw a good person boxed in by a bad system. The problem was not intent. It was the lack of a workable alternative.
That is what ThreadLock addresses. It is an information problem at scale.

4. Rollout
Start with benefits brokers that already sell EAP and mental health tools. Package ThreadLock as a low cost add on at one dollar per employee per month. Give brokers co branded copy, a short deck, and a sandbox. Run a two week enablement sprint per broker. Pilot with two midsize employers in month two. Go live in month three with a simple agreement and SSO.
